Rotary believes that cultivating empathy and understanding is an effective way to build bridges among nations and cross cultural, racial, and religious divides. With this goal in mind, Rotary International has been organising live-in experiences across the globe for more than sixty years.
Our Youth Exchange Programme gives students, parents, and host families the opportunity to broaden their cultural horizons. Students get the opportunity to live in another country with a local family for either six weeks or a full academic year. Parents present their children with the experience of a lifetime. Host families care for and learn from foreign students from all over the world and share their culture and country with these students.
The programme aims to assist Southern African teenagers to become citizens of the world, to promote self-development and to foster international relations and goodwill.
While the Rotary Club of Knights Pendragon is not currently involved in the Youth Exchange programmes of Rotary International, there are other clubs in the District that are. If you are interested in learning more about Rotary’s Youth Exchange programmes, please visit https://youthexchange.co.za/
