Knights Pendragon recently combined their efforts with the Alberton Lions Club, to facilitate the provision of a much needed wheelchair to, Minnie Struwig, a resident of the Annie Burger Retirement Village in Crown Gardens, Johannesburg. This wheelchair will greatly improve Minnie’s mobility and access to facilities close to her residential unit.
Few South Africans are aware of the more than 3 million elderly people around the country who are struggling to make ends meet and are often unable to afford simple but essential items. Volunteer service organisations such as Rotary and Lions Clubs, strive to help those less fortunate than themselves, including the elderly of insufficient means.
